For better or for worse, the traditional station wagon has long ceased to be a popular, or mainstream choice, if you prefer, in North America, with most buyers having turned to SUVs, Crossovers and Minivans for their increased capacity and practicality over sedans. In Europe, it's a different story, as consumers, especially in central and northern parts of the continent, remain fans of this body style.
Just last month, Honda yanked the covers off the new and slightly futuristically styled Civic Tourer that offers a capacious trunk volume of 624 liters (22 cubic ft) with the rear seats in their place, and 1,668 liters (58.9 cubic ft) when folded down.
Honda has no plans to offer the Civic-hatch based Tourer in the States, and even though chances of Acura presenting a similar version of the Civic sedan-based ILX compact model are slim to none, Photoshop expert Remco Meulendijk used his skills to illustrate what such as car could look like.
You can check out the picture below and tell us if you'd like to see an ILX SportsWagon in Acura's future.
