You can't say we didn't at least try to learn how much the upcoming 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 will cost when it goes on sale during the first quarter of next year; we talked to GM spokesperson Monte Doran who told us the following:
"The Z/28 is NOT available to order now, and we won’t have pricing until the end of this year. But I can tell you it will be priced above the ZL1," said Doran.
To put those words into context, the mildly updated 2014 Camaro ZL1 starts at $56,050 in coupe form and from $61,250 with a rag-top over your head, so we're looking at BMW M3 / M4 pricing-territory for the Z/28.
Speaking of the ZL1, the 2014 Camaro's exterior facelift only affected its rear lights, with the front end of the car remaining as is.
"The ZL1 had a mild refresh for 2014 – with new rear taillights and fascia, new optional Recaro seats (for coupes only) and color head-up display," Doran told Carscoops. "It did not get the updated front end of the other 2014 models, as the ZL1 has very unique aero needs for feeding/cooling the supercharger."
If you haven't seen all the new photos of the revised 2014 Camaro that GM has been adding to its media gallery in the months following the debut of the regular coupe and the upcoming Z/28, (for the record, we hadn't), we've placed them all together in our own gallery below the break.
In it, you will find images of the base 323hp 3.6-liter V6, the 426hp 6.2-liter V8 SS in regular and the $3,500 1LE trim that adds a whole bunch of performance goods, the half-refreshed 2014 ZL1 and the Z/28.
