Should Kia Ponder a Cerato or Forte-Based Convertible?

Over the past decade or so, Korean carmaker Kia has submitted proposals in just about every mainstream segment, from city cars with the Picanto to hot hatches with the Cee'd GT and even rear-wheel drive luxury sedans with the K9 / Quoris.

However, it has been absent from the convertible segment, even though it does produce a coupe with the Forte Koup.

If it were to make one, the most likely candidates to form the base for an open top model would be the related Cee'd / K3 / Cerato hatchbacks and Forte Koup. X-Tomi Design chose the former for his visual representation of what an economical and compact-sized Kia convertible would look like.

In your opinion, is this the right way to enter the convertible category or should Kia opt for a more unique creation, similar to what Volkswagen attempted with the Golf-based CC? Share your answers in the comments.

Kia Confirms Preliminary Specs for Pro_cee’d GT and Cee’d GT with 201HP 1.6L Turbo

As it seems, Kia is so excited about its first-ever shot at the hot hatch segment in Europe that it just can't wait to share more details with us.
Less than a week after the Koreans announced their decision to rival VW's Golf GTI with the three-door Pro_Cee'd GT, Kia has now not only confirmed the availability of a GT version of the five-door Cee'd, but also revealed preliminary specifications.

Parisian Poll: Which is the Better Looker, the Hyundai i30 3D or the Kia Pro_Cee'd?

South Korean automakers Hyundai and Kia aren't leaving a lot of breathing space for Europe's troubled mainstream car manufactures, as they are relentlessly assaulting every popular category with new models.
At the 2012 edition of the Paris Motor Show, the Korean partners each introduced a three-door version of their respective C-segment compact hatchbacks.
The two models are the Hyundai i30 3d (the five-door version of which is sold as the Elantra GT in North America) and the Kia Pro_Cee'd, both of which offer a more aggressive design than their five-door counterparts.
