The year that’s drawing to a close has been a very prolific one for performance cars. We’ve had new models sprout out in all classes, from supermini hot hatches, to hybrid hypercars and even an electric sedan that can punch well above its weight (literally) in terms of track performance.
In order to make sense of the vast number of sporty cars released this year, Car Magazine gathered all its editors and let them loose on their chosen selection of new and relevant models.
What became immediately obvious was the fact that there really were no real losers among their picks, and I know I personally would have enjoyed any of the cars they had lined up to compare, even the Ford Fiesta ST.
In the end, the knockout competition only had the Porsche 911 GT3 left standing at the end, despite its unpopular switch from a ma to an automatic – it was praised by all who drove it, and apparently ‘they all wanted one.’
The video on how they chose the Porsche as their winner is posted below. After watching it, why not tell us which one you would have preferred, in the comments section.
