Automakers design airbags to help minimalize driver and passenger injuries during a crash with another vehicle or an obstacle, whatever that might be. Inadvertently, bad roads may also trigger airbags, as we can see in this short clip filmed in Moldova.
After chitchatting with a woman, the driver of the Hyundai Matrix (some of you may also know the small minivan as the Elantra LaVita), moves on the gravel filled part of the road but he has a hitch…with a dangerously protruding manhole cover.
The impact wasn't huge, but it was enough to deploy the Korean model's airbags and put a serious dent in the owner's pockets…
