Dozens Hurt After Train Runs Up Chicago O'Hare Escalator

More than 30 people were injured, fortunately none seriously, according to preliminary reports, when a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train derailed, crashing through a barrier at the end of a platform before jumping up an escalator at the O’Hare International Airport in the early morning hours of Monday.

Scary Close Call Will Make You Move from Your Chair

Brazilian college student and motorcycle driver Renan Ribas together with his cousin, who was riding at the back, are extremely lucky to be alive after a Volkswagen Polo that had just made a dangerous and foolish pass slid out of control on the BR-280 highway in São Francisco do Sul, this past Saturday, clipping the bike before crashing into another vehicle.

Silly Cops Think They're Immune to Traction Loss on Ice

A couple of young men were having a blast from the comfort, warmth and safety of their apartment looking over a road, as they were filming the ice-packed misfortunes of about half a dozen drivers, possibly, but not surely in Russia.

Pink Feathered Kia Driver Falls Asleep, Takes Another Car Down Into a Crazy Rollover

Pink feather like decorative accents on door handles might make some of us take notice for humorous purposes, but they won't make other drivers more aware of you when you fall asleep behind the wheel.

This severe accident took place in South Korea last week when the driver of the aforementioned black Kia Optima seemingly dozed off with his vehicle veering to the right and hitting the concrete barrier that sent it across the other way before smashing into a silver sedan.

As a result of the high speed contact, both cars rolled over. Amazingly, the author of the video stated that, despite the severity of the accident, no one was seriously injured.

Take a look at the incident for yourself in the video below.

Toyota Truck Recovery Goes from Bad to "Holy F@%$" Faster Than You Can Say Down Under

The last thing you want or need when you're out in the wild "more than six hours away from the nearest help" is to have both of your main transportation means disabled, which is precisely what happened to a trio of Australians filming for an upcoming episode of the 'All 4 Adventures' television show on 7TWO.

Then again, since we are talking about television, perhaps this is the best thing that could have happened (ratings-wise, of course, of course) to presenters Jason Andrews and Simon Anderson, and to a lesser extent, Al the cameraman.

When the first Toyota truck got itself into a muddy and sticky situation, it wasn't that bad, but things took a turn for the worse when the tide starting coming in, and even more so, when the other Toyota that was doing the pulling…turned over. Watch the NSFW video below.

Car Crashes and Floats Down a River, Driver and Passengers Don't Give Two Hoots About It!

Driving a car on land, floating it down a river; what's the difference when you're completely wasted? Just as long as you can breathe fresh air and enjoy the buzz, it's the same thing…

We had to watch this unbelievable incident twice to make sure what we we're looking at is real. What's more surreal, is the purported conversation between the group of men in the vehicle, which according to Carscoops tipster Robert, went something along the lines of this:

"Oh, we float! Where do we go? I don't know, may be to the shore. Don't steer the wheel, it's useless!" – you don't say Sherlock…

The location of the incident is not mentioned, but if it's not mother Russia, it could be one of the surrounding countries – if you know, do share in the comments.

Shout out to Robert M. for the tip!

Guy Freaks Out After Car Flip, Mass Cops Ask for Help to Identify Flippers [NSFW Video]

Just imagine yourself leaving your car parked on the road only to come and find it turned upside down – in the literal sense of the word; not a happy thought, is it now…

Unfortunately, that scene played out a few times late Wednesday night and in the early morning hours of Thursday in Boston after the Red Sox won the World Series, when some rowdy fans, or shall we call them hooligans, crossed the line and started attacking cars.

We showed you a video of Boston cops saving one car from a flipping fate, but another one, a black Toyota Corolla, was not so fortunate. Now, Massachusetts State Police (MSP) have released photos from the act on social media channels with the hope that viewers can identify the vandals responsible for flipping over the compact sedan on Boylston St.

Here's the statement from MSP:

"The Massachusetts State Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying those responsible for vandalizing a car on Boylston Street early Thursday morning following the Red Sox victory. Anyone with information about who was responsible, or anyone with photos or videos of the incident is asked to contact Trooper Brian Simpkins of the State Police Boston Barracks at (617) 727-6780."

The owner of the car, Chad Duncan, told the Boston Globe that he initially thought his Corolla had been towed, but soon realized what really happened. Duncan, who had leased the car last year, said it was totaled. "The whole top and side is crunched," he said adding that according to his estimates, he lost around $2,500, including $1,000 for his insurance deductible and $1,500 in new lease fees.

A video recording from the incident surfaced on YouTube. Before you watch it, we should warn you that the person filming it freaked out in the end

Nitrous-Fueled Corvette C6 Pops at 180MPH

Incorrect engine timing is what caused this nitrous-injected Chevrolet Corvette C6 to catch fire while it was doing 180 mph or 288 km/h driven by its owner Buddy Schulz at the Texas Mile. It wasn’t a heavily modified car, though, but the Stage 2 nitrous shot kit kind of clashed with the smooth running of the LS3 V8, instead of helping it make the claimed 625 hp that it was known to be capable of.

The fire itself isn’t of the extremely spectacular kind, but we bet Mr. Schulz didn’t feel the same way as he was rushing to get the racing harness uncoupled so as to get out of the burning vehicle (while it was still moving).

In the end, he threw himself out, just before the ‘Vette came to a complete stop, but instead of having a negative attitude about it afterward, he was apparently talking about the next engine that he’s going to use for the car. He probably would not have been positive about it if the fire would have spread to the other parts of the body too…

Thankfully, as the YouTube uploader states in one of the comment replies, “most of the car was saved and can be rebuilt.”

Boston Cops on Bicycles Stop Red Sox Fans from Overturning Car

Last night, Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-1, in Game 6 of the baseball World Series (never understood why they insist on that name, but that's a different story) earning their third championship in the last 10 years.

Good for them, but as is usually the case with important sports events anywhere in the world (remember what happened in Vancouver in 2011?); with the help of plenty of alcohol, some fans turned into rioters overturning and running over cars and climbing traffic lights until the early morning hours of Thursday.

As pointed out in a Huffington Post report, there were nine arrests made in connection to the riots.

While some cars were…mauled and overturned, we found at least one that was saved thanks to the efforts of some fine Boston police officers who did their job and chased away the rioters before they had the chance to turn over a Nissan sedan – and it was all captured on a video by Alan Wurman, which you can watch below the break.

Another Tesla Catches Fire, This Time After Crash in Mexico [w/Video]

After Tesla narrowly evaded a full-scale investigation on the Washington State incident, another example of its Model S saloon has caught fire, this time more severely and at the hands of a reportedly drunk driver in Mexico that crashed it straight through a wall, then into another one, while attempting to enter a roundabout in the town of Mérida, says Progreso Hoy.

They had a video up on October 18, so the two incidents are separated by around two weeks. Apparently, as Jalopnik reports, an official statement from Tesla has already been issued.

We were able to contact the driver quickly and are pleased that he is safe. This was a significant accident where the car was traveling at such a high speed that it smashed through a concrete wall and then hit a large tree, yet the driver walked away from the car with no permanent injury. He is appreciative of the safety and performance of the car and has asked if we can expedite delivery of his next Model S.

The Tesla Model S is definitely one of the fastest two-wheel drive cars off the line in the world, and from a standing start, it can hold its own against or even be quicker than more powerful mainstream rivals. We’ve seen countless videos of just how electric it really is, but only now are we starting to see what happens when that kind of swift progress is stopped by significant metallic debris that pierces the battery – fire breaks out, and because it’s an EV, people tend to react differently…

The heavily discussed Washington State incident had a negative and direct effect on company shares and cast some doubt in people’s minds as to the safety of the Model S in the event of a severe crash, something that is not hard at all to achieve, given the performance on tap.

Bad Situation for Crashed Mazda Gets Worse with Tow Truck Fumbler [NSFW]

What can possibly be worse for the older-generation Mazda3 hatchback shown lying down on its side in our opening picture above? Well, since you asked, this situation actually went from bad to worse in just under than 20 seconds.

The tow truck driver was lifting up the Japanese hatch when the chain broke with the car then rolling on the road before…tumbling down the mountain.

You'll have to excuse the profanity heard from the person recording the video and who we have to assume must be the unfortunate owner of the now surely wrecked Mazda3.

See the video below the jump.

I Believe She Missed One…

An unnamed woman in a Suzuki Grand Vitara pitched an almost perfect strike in the early morning hours of Monday when for as-of-yet unknown reasons, she lost control of her SUV running though a concrete median before crashing into four brand new vehicles parked in front of a Lada dealership in the Russian city of Ekaterinburg (also known as Yekaterinburg).

A fifth vehicle seen in the security camera footage parked in the lot escaped unscathed, thus ruining her…automotive strike.

While her insurance rates are bound to hit new highs over the next months, the woman reportedly came out of the car unhurt.

Ford Falcon Ute Turns Into a Hot Rod, Owner Calmly Puts Out Fire and Drives it Back to Work!

Talk about turning around a hot situation into a very cool affair. Mark Schocroft, a young automotive electrician from the Australian city of Adelaide, was in for a nasty surprise on Friday morning when he saw his Ford Falcon ute engulfed in flames.

Apparently, the butane bottles in the pickup truck's bed exploded. Thankfully, bypassers notified Schocroft who ran outside the pizza place and extinguished the fire.

What makes this story cool is that Schocroft, far from shocked, checked out his Falcon ute and once he made sure that the basics work, he drove the car to his job!

Schocroft told 7News that he was concerned he would be late for work. "I didn't know what the bosses would say…," explained the young man.

Lose Your Cool, Lose Your Car…

Whenever you get behind the wheel of a car or on the seat of a motorcycle and hit the road, you just have to be prepared for surprises, some of which you can avoid and others that you cannot. The worst thing you can do when the unexpected happens is to panic.

And panic is exactly what this young Russian driver of an older generation Nissan Micra did when a careless motorist in a white hatch (or small MPV, we can't see clearly from this distance) veered into his lane.

The man lost it and swiveled left and right before crashing into and the…onto the side barrier. Fortunately, both he and his female companion seemed unhurt as they…jumped out of the car that was partially hanging in the air.

BMW M5 'Ring Taxi Slips Into a Crash [w/Video]

The latest news from the Nürburgring track are not pleasant as it has been reported and filmed that the famous BMW M5 sedan Ring Taxi crashed, closing down the circuit.

The folks over at the BridgeToGantry who shared two photos from the incident in which we see the M5 with its rear quarters heavily damaged and side air bags deployed, said that "the exact circumstances aren't immediately clear".

However, YouTube user Tom49115 who took a short video of the aftermath, said that the "slippery conditions" were to blame.

It remains unknown at this point if anyone was injured or whether any other vehicle was involved – it doesn't seem like it, but we'll updated you as soon as we learn more.

Just When You Thought It Was All Over….

A pile up attributed to poor visibility stemming from fog as well as to…a number of drivers not keeping a safe distance from other motorists that occurred on Wednesday in Russia's southern Stavropol region, led to a 20-vehicle accident, including 15 passenger cars, three trucks and two busses.

A vehicle's dash-cam recorded part of the pileup on the Kavkaz highway. Even though the driver of said automobile managed to stop in time before crashing into the cars in front, other motorists weren't as diligent or successful…

One person was hurt in the crash, and had to be hospitalized, albeit with non-life threatening injuries. A video from the pile-up can be found below.

Chevy Driver Tailgating Land Cruiser Fails to See Concrete Median

If you're going to speed and act stupidly on the road, then be prepared for the worst, as there's a very good possibility that you're going to pay the price for it, one way or the other.

In the case of the Russian driver of a Chevrolet sedan who was tailgating a speeding Toyota Land Cruiser in a highway near the city of St. Petersburg, the price was a horrendous crash with a raised median barrier.

The Chevrolet driver looks like he or she tried to squeeze between another car and the Land Cruiser from the right lane, failing to see that the road split in front.

The author of the dash-cam video footage said that the driver and a passenger of the Chevrolet were hospitalized injured, but at least alive.

We tip our hats to Dmitry!

Pissed Off Husband Rams His Own House with Jeep Grand Cherokee! [NSFW]

We're no strangers to angry wives, mistresses and girlfriends lashing out on their men, but don't think for a moment that some males don't do the same if strong emotions such as passion and jealousy take control over reason.

That's when bad things happen like, for example, driving your older generation Jeep Grand Cherokee (unless the video is playing tricks on our eyes and it's a Cherokee) into your other car before smashing it into your house.

And we quote YouTube author 'annahill3001': "Caught this on the way home from work. Word is the man caught his wife cheating on him and he decided to take things into his own hands bulldozing his own home! CRAZY! THIS GUY IS A MORON!"

Crazy stuff indeed, which you can watch in the (vertical and NSFW language alarm) video below.

Oh Mon Dieu! Porsche 993 Driver Handles Extremely Close Call Like a Boss

The problem with highway accidents happening in front of you is that everything usually comes about in a blink of an eye, leaving drivers only a split second and very little space to take evasive actions that could have life-or-death consequences.

YouTube user Augustin Kuntz had the unfortunate experience of not only witnessing an accident take place right in front of his eyes while driving his 993 generation (the one built from 1993 to 1998) Porsche 911 at highway speeds, but also having to deal with and avoid being part of it.

You might have to rewind and watch the video again to see exactly what happened when an older Renault Clio somehow shot across the highway hitting another car that ended up in the bushes.

Given that the 993 isn't exactly the easiest car to handle in these sudden situations, we think Kuntz did pretty good in our books. What do you say?

Merci monsieur Benjamin V.!

Atlanta Driver Sleeping on the Road, Wakes Up, Drives Off and Crashes Before Fleeing on Foot

Talk about a bizarre incident, and no, it didn't happen in Russia but in the good 'ol US of A. On Saturday afternoon, WSB-TV's Liz Artz and her photographer found a man sleeping in his Ram truck on the right lane of the Buford Connector near downtown Atlanta. The young man had collapsed over his steering wheel and was filmed drooling.

The reporter called in for help and soon enough, a Georgia Department of Transportation HERO unit came to assist. The man tried to wake up the driver and remove the keys from the Ram's ignition, but the driver brushed him away and took off.

Seconds later, he crashed into two cars in traffic ahead, creating a chain reaction that ended in a five-car accident. Before the Atlanta Police arrived, the man took off on foot climbing a tree and jumping over a barbed wire fence! According to WSB-TV, the police have still not found the man.

We could be wrong, but if you ask us, he looked as high as a kite in the video…

Thanks to Adam B. for the heads up!
