New Porsche Boxster and Cayman GTS in 62 Photos, Plus U.S. Pricing

If you can swallow the $11,400 premium over the Boxster S (MSRP: $62,100) and Cayman S (MSRP: $63,800), the new GTS versions of Porsche's base roadster and coupe models are the ones to gun for in the series, at least for now and until Porsche cooks up something even more sizzling.

Porsche Boss Confirms 4-Cylinder Boxer with Up to 396HP for Next-Gen Boxster and Cayman

The next-iteration of the Porsche Boxster and Cayman sports car will receive a four-cylinder boxer engine, Porsche CEO Matthias Müller disclosed. In an interview with Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport magazine published on March 20, the executive said future Porsche road cars will receive four-cylinder engines, just like the company’s 919 Hybrid endurance racer.

Studiotorino's Moncenisio is a $200,000+ Coachbuilt Kit for the Porsche Cayman

Some $200,000 or €145,000 excluding taxes, transport costs and more importantly, the price for the donor Porsche Cayman that starts new from $52,600 in the US and from €51,385 in Germany for the base 275PS (271hp) model, is a whole lot of money, and it's what Italy's Studiotorino is asking for their new coachbuilt coupe named Moncenisio.

How Does the New Corvette Stingray Stack Up Against the Competition on the Track?

Talk about milking it to the very last drop… Oh, yes, it's another one of Edmunds' videos on the new 2014 Corvette Stingray that supposedly comes to wrap up (though, we wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't…) the individual tests it performed against a variety of sports cars, regardless of price or if they're direct competitors in the eyes and pockets of consumers.

The online news site brought together all six challengers, including the SRT Viper, Nissan GT-R Track Edition, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Porsche Cayman S, Ford Shelby GT500 and the now discontinued BMW M3 Coupe, to the Willow Springs International Raceway, which is about an hour away from Los Angeles, to see how the Corvette C7 stands up to them.

We know what you're thinking, but the Stingray wasn't the fastest car on the track; can you guess which one was? To find the answer, click play on the following video.

Porsche Cayman Coupe Slams Into the Rear End of a Truck without Lights

The driver of a Porsche Cayman coupe was filmed by an adjacent vehicle fitted with a dashboard-mounted camera smashing violently into the rear end of a truck at high speed.
The accident, which looks like it took place in China or at least in a neighboring country (if any of our readers can help with the translation, leave us a message in the comments), occurred when the Cayman driver didn't notice the truck that did not have any lights open at the back and was traveling on the left hand side of the road.

Porsche Announces World Premiere of Compact Sports Car at LA Auto Show

Porsche says it has selected the 2012 edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public from November 30 to December 9, for the world premiere of a brand-new, never before seen model together with a US premiere.
The German company says the world debut will take place on November 28 and it concerns a "compact sports car". While Porsche won't name the car, from what we have heard, the "mystery" model is the new Cayman coupe based on the latest generation of the Boxster (981).

Porsche Chief Driving Consultant Displays the Merits of the Cayman R

These past few months, the big news coming out from Porsche's headquarters in Stuttgart concerned the brand-new 911. And that's only natural as it’s not every day that we see a new 911 – and its most radical evolution at that.
On the other hand, the Boxster / Cayman duo is almost nowhere to be seen. That’s also to be expected: their replacements are coming next year, so the current models are more or less old news.
However, Porsche would like to remind us that the Cayman is still alive and well with a new video staring Porsche UK's Chief Driving Consultant, Gordon Robertso.
